I'm a person who loves to dance and have fun in the dance world. When I was young, I started dancing with my mom in my city in Mexico taking ballet classes and then I decided to take urban music. In 2018 I migrated to the United States with my family. I continued my education starting here in 7th grade. When I entered to my freshmen year of high school, I got so interested in the dance team so I tryout and I made the JV dance team my sophomore year. Now I’m currently in the varsity dance team and officially a dance officer of the Kempner Cougar Brigade Dance Team.

My role model for dance is my friend Mady Li. She teaches me how to become stronger and learn more skills. and I look up to my mom because she teaches me that with working hard everything will be pay off.

The best advice I can give to an athlete beginning in High School dance is never give up, try your best for what you want. Most importantly don't compare yourself with other dancers, every dancer is different, the best skills don't make you the best, it is your passion for it.
When I started dancing in the dance team, I used to see everything difficult, especially turns. But I never wanted to quit my passion for dance, and if one day I have those thoughts in my mind I will take a moment; and think about what I want and where my passion for this sport is going. Embrace Doubt means being a leader, encourage, congratulate and make people feel lovely. My coach told me once “GO BIG OR GO HOME” that means do your best, show your passion that you have for dance, and never give up, keep trying and trying and you would become stronger.
I see myself in the next five years with my education degree and minor in dance, and with a lot of memories of my dance journey. I plan to give back and inspire the future generations by making some fun dance classes and coming to watch and support them at their performances.
