I am from Sugarland Texas, born and raised. I was brought into sports at a very young age with my dad being a big fan of baseball. He put me in Baseball to learn patience, respect, and love for the game. I have since grown up with the sport becoming a 4-year High School Varsity Starter.

I doubted my abilities in my sophomore year when I had just gotten back from arm surgery and was really struggling on and off the field. I wanted to quit mid-way through the season, but my friends wouldn’t let me turn in my stuff. I also had knee surgery last year after my junior season. I would just keep telling myself that in time I would come back better and stronger than before. I eventually got through it with the help of my close friends and family. I finished strong.

Some advice I would give to a younger athletes is to stick with it and work hard even through the struggles. It will eventually get better. The mind is your biggest enemy, and it can hold you back if you do not train it correctly. You must teach your mind and train it for tough situations. Instead of crumbling to the occasion, rise above it.

I would tell them to keep their head up and find a couple of good friends that will make sure to keep you on the right track.

I look up to my parents as they have set a good example of right from wrong and how to treat others when they aren’t around. Their wisdom and good practice will carry me after I graduate from high school.
